Shake me

Posted by: But That's Just Me | News, Events & Places | 2007-11-27 | 3 Comments »

It’s kinda weird but ever since birth – I really can’t tell easily if the earth is shaking. The only time that I’ll know that it is indeed an earthquake is if / when someone or a commotion told me so, or when I started to look consciously on a certain object that is moving.

There is the presence of dizziness but the reality of feeling that – oh I am swaying, I think it’s an earthquake – was never felt.

Just like awhile ago when an almost 5 magnitude earthquake struck Luzon areas of Paradise Philippines. Silently scared, everyone in the office took the stairs down from 21st floor.

While waiting for some aftershocks outside the building, some people shared more earthquake stories like the severe one that happened last 1990, which makes me wonder again, where was I when it happened? And how come I can’t recall any experience?!

Sigh, this is the result of a busy mind, it makes you sooo preoccupied of issues and whatnot that you can no longer tell if your world, your career and your life is shaking.

I remember that 1990 earthquake! I was in kindergarten, it’s funny though because I don’t have any solid recollection during those times aside from that earthquake and my brother falling off the stairs hehe, I was just going home, I was with my yaya then, my mother was waiting for me outside our front door, her hands are wide open and I’m going to her, that’s the only thing I remember hehe nice noh? :P

about the recent earthquake, I actually thought I was just dizzy too, earthquake na pala haha I wouldn’t have known until my boss told us that the earth is shaking hehe my officemates panicked, they were about to go under this huge narra table, mas nakakatakot yun pano kung bumigay yung lamesa! hehe
