WellWhat Versions

entry info: Design, Arts and Interiors | 2008-02-20 | 6 Comments »

Few hours ago, I was thinking of a new site layout/theme for this  site. Maybe a design that will suit my bride-to-be status without making it too feminine — but then all I can see are whites, ribbons,  flowers, gowns – hah no, I definitely can’t make this site look like a wedding website.

So I ended up playing around and switching back to my previous layouts, checking if my sidebars are ok and if links are updated, etc – but argh, no they’re not updated so I switched back to this recent blue pop layout. I guess I should just stick with this for awhile , I’ll recharge first my creative soul. Must.catch.sleep. Goodnight world.Anyway, below are screen caps of my fave previous well whatever versions:

Which one do you like? :d

Movies and Juno OST

entry info: Flicks, Celeb, Fab & Music | 2008-02-19 | 2 Comments »

My old habit is back. I watched the same new movie twice last week again. Juno, a surprise hit Indie film (okay, maybe just for some).

I watched the said film for the following reasons: I got curious of it’s number of nominations; The movie poster is cute and unconventional. Also because I know it is much better than watching Jumper (which will only reminds me of Heroes) and of course way much better than our local movie My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend (haha).

I do watch local films except though if actors are from GMA Network. Heh.

But no, no I’m not into silly kapuso-kapamilya wars (coz I don’t watch TV seriously). Only on movies, like if I were to choose between Richard Gutierrez-with-whoever versus John Lloyd and Bea? (Haha) I’ll definitely go with the latter. ABS-CBN / Star Cinema’s creative minds is incomparable.

Okay, going back to Juno. Well, its an awesome movie! The script lines are beautiful, witty and engaging. I immediately search for OST when I got home after the movie and I love it! Its a combination of classic rock and indie with a folk beat. Most of the songs are from Kimya Dawson, The Moldy Peaches, and Belle & Sebastian. What I like most are Cat Power’s Sea of Love and Velvet Underground’s I’m Sticking with You.

It’s a one fun movie that you shouldn’t miss. Go watch now! As of today (Tuesday) it is still available on selected cinemas:

Makati: Greenbelt and Powerplant mall only.
Mandaluyong: Megamall and Shangri-la.

Valentine excuse

entry info: Life and Love | News, Events & Places | 2008-02-15 | 2 Comments »

If there’s one thing that I don’t like about valentine’s day – it will be the color. That’s why no red flowers for me please.

I’m really not a fan of cheesy emo nor bitter advocates on valentine’s day but yesterday’s was an excuse. Heh.

Well, because I thought it’s reasonable to celebrate it – coz you see, it was our last valentine’s day as boyfriend / girlfriend!

This reminds me of an old advice – I forgot who said it though – they said it is really important that you enjoy every little thing and every short moment of togetherness during the courtship / boyfriend-girlfriend period because once you started to go up to the next level (family life) – things will be different.

I’m glad we took that advice seriously.

We certainly enjoyed our single life. The numerous movie dates, food trip, shopping together, gimik night outs, watching gigs, parties, outing, concerts, etc. We have also allowed several spaces in between like he can still go out without me or me watching a movie with girlfriends. I can let him – go play basketball 2 to 3x a week.

And those are perfectly okay. Allowing solitude is healthy. There’s no rush to stick together at all times.

Okay – I guess those are reasonable enough to explain why we celebrated valentine’s day. Lol.

It’s just that we will miss this stage. Our next valentine’s day, after our soon-to-be December wedding, will be celebrated as husband and wives already. I’m not saying that we will no longer date but maybe when that time comes, some other important things will matter most. There will be payment bills, family future savings, insurance, rental fees, gas, tuition fees of kids, household fees, etc.

Maybe when that time comes we will just have to celebrate Feb 14 at home watching TV. And then as years go by, we will find ourselves sitting on a couch, opening a box of heart shaped cake with a digital valentine’s card from our lovely daughters and sons.
