A lot of things had happened for the past few weeks. There was this so called pamamanhikan (meeting groom/bride-to-be parents and his brothers (one of our groomsmen), finishing church requirements for December wedding and me moving out from home; my brother, papa and step-family is going back to the province that is why I’ll be living an independent life again in this big, stressful and polluted city.
Well I guess this is my first official step outside my comfort zone but I am excited at the same time…looking after my own stuff, buying groceries, doing the laundry, cleaning, washing dishes and most of all budgeting expenses seriously. I can now see myself wondering what food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or maybe food chains, karinderias will be seeing a lot of me again haha.
I am also looking forward to start collecting household stuff, I don’t know maybe it’s a sign of old age already (heh!)…like buying set of plates, kitchen utensils, cookbooks and learn how to bake (like my father). I also wanted to express my creativity – an attempt to interior designing like maybe creating a mini sala with lots of pillows and then curtains in accordance to a certain theme or colors…yay wondering about these things is really making me happy. I think there’s this unsung “home girl” hiding inside me after all.
With regards to the wedding preparation, it is currently hanging in the moment and waiting mode..most of the suppliers are booked already and it’s still too early to prepare for the rest like gown fittings, souvenirs, groomsmen gift etc. since we still have 6 months to go. Also, the same old mentality is back again – that it is more exciting if everyone else is in cramming and spontaneous. Haha! I don’t even have a wedding organizer! but I keep a spreadsheet file to track some things. My sister, my matron of honor (same duty with maid of honor), is even more excited than me. She even bought wedding magazines!(while I, the bride have none!)
Wedding they said is such a women’s thing. We usually tend to focus on women accessories, bridal gown, and other bridesmaid stuff. Recently I found out from research that a gifts for the entourage is also needed..gifts for the girls are easy but groomsmen gifts? It’s hard indeed. Good thing I found this website, groomsmen.com which features myriad list of gift suggestions.
Okay wow this is a long entry already, hah got carried away, I gotta go now. It’s raining outside again and times like this all I want to do is sleep but yeah of course I can’t – pending personal and work design projects are waiting for me.
What I have here are happy accidents designs, free verse in spontaneity, unconventional shots, twisted angle and unsung beauty of whatever-ness.
