The death of an action star, Rudy Fernandez is one of the biggest buzz of year 2008 and I must admit I was guilty of checking the entertainment section just to read the updated news online about it. Well, not that I’m a fan…I guess I’m just amazed knowing that his relationship with Lorna Tolentino lasted that long. The fact that they didn’t give up on each other amidst all the human flaws and life’s imperfections is something rare in the showbiz world.

Come what may I’ll stick it out with him.

LT’s reply to the phrase above reminds me of my newly found love philosophy that I’ve discovered months ago while I was doing some relationship analysis (yeah, I love doing that) like why does some fail and how come others manage to survive. She mentioned something about commitment and a promise she made that it’s gonna be him.

So yeah, maybe it is not all about love, sweet words and romance all the time. Passion may fade and glow may died but if there’s commitment, friendship and laughter – there will always be a high probability of holding on and keeping each other forever. You might wonder why I included the word laughter as one of the essentials. Well because in my case it is … (we love to laugh). Most intimate relationships based only on seriousness have a tendency to turn sour.

A lot of people can easily give up if both of the couple/lovers lacks the required amount of faith, trust and positivity. As a wife or husband, you must be creative enough to think of strategy on how to save your marriage from falling apart. Both of them need to work it out together. And for confusing moments, there will always be an option of asking advice from friends or participate in a marriage family counseling.

This is the same with Cameron Diaz and Aston Kutcher’s movie, What Happens in Vegas. It’s a feel good romantic comedy of two strangers, a one night stand thing and awaken to find that they married each other and won a jackpot in Vegas…what they did brought a dilemma on how they will divide the prize. The couple then tried to find ways on how to work things out with the help of friends and a marriage counselor– just so they can get their share of the jackpot money. In the end, the couple realize that they are, after all, perfect for each other.

Gee, I can’t believe I’m starting to talk about happy endings and marriage…yeah maybe because I’m on my way there (6 months to go na lang…and yet there are still lot of things to do. 1 year wedding preparation is indeed short for a busy couple-to-be in a corporate world.)
