In Japanese, it means beautiful.

It all started when I bought a set of black square plate, spoon and a bowl. And then after reading the book of Memoirs of a Geisha, that was the time I realized that I love Japanese arts.

The colorful design details of geisha clothes and that certain non-smiling calm and pretty geisha face. You see, there’s something enigmatic about it. I adore the beautiful minimal interiors, japanese foliage, paintings, fine arts… except anime. I’m not a fan of that, old days and traditional ones are still much better.

From the archives, I found this web design concept I made few months back for a client who wants to have a Japanese look and feel on her website. It is one of my favorite design in my portfolio.

Currently, I’m looking and canvassing for Japanese theme stuff that I can use for interiors in my new place. Like the one above…that specific table (refer to the stockphoto of my design above) and then maybe I’ll combine it with modern pop art theme using colorful fabrics as customize curtains :d

Just playin’ around with the polyvore sets…not a fan of this color (burgundy) but I think it’s pretty din. I have the same shoes but in pale green color. I know it’s a summer outfit and it’s already mid June — pero kasi naman ang init pa rin sa labas :d

A month ago I posted an entry about how I heart my Mom. This month of June is father’s month so I’d like to dedicate this entry for the coolest and kindest Papa in the world.

Like me, he’s vain too… err either way hehe // He gave me his old pics and said if you’ll post my pics online , make sure to include my showbiz days :d so here it is! Happy Father’s day Papa!

I say the coolest because I can easily confide on him about crushes, boyfriends… I can even let him read my love letters! He never gets tired answering my silly questions, hearing my sentiments and life’s analysis. We love to share and discuss anything under the sun from politics, philosophy, cultures, laws, etc.

He’s such an OC on the kitchen, he loves to bake and prepares food for me. Even if it’s just a very simple fried galunggong meal – he will arrange it decoratively on a plate, serving with tomatoes, onions and garlics.

Kahit simple lang ulam mo basta maganda ang presentation, gaganahan kang kumain. That’s his usual statement while preparing meals. I heard it a hundred times already.

Never mind other’s business. I could still remember when I was just a kid and there was this certain commotion in a neighborhood (yung kapitbahay ata nag-aaway that time) and well of course the usual reaction of any individual is to take a peek, go out and check what’s out there (usyuso hehe) . Papa scolded us for doing that., he’d locked the doors and close windows and won’t allow us to go out.

He’s also the one who taught me about individual differences – that we are created with different levels of thinking. That is why it is completely wrong to insist opinion on others and to assume that people can easily understand you.

I guess most characteristic that I have today are his influences – philosophy, logic of reasons and outlook in life. What I got from my Mom are the love for literature, poetry and writing.
