It was only for the past few months that I have learned to love dark chocolates. I’m a milk girl that’s why. An officemate of mine told me to try the dark ones – so I did. Now I love them for being not sooo sweet! Even though I have colds and coughing – sige lang chocolates pa rin! I used to believe that chocolates is just like cigarette that may relax and give you happiness for awhile but can really be bad for you (imagine the calories!).

But did you know that dark chocolate is healthy?! Marix even told me @plurk – that it is actually a cough medicine! Wow what a sweet happy medicine! It is kinda pricey though than a regular chocolate bar. The cheapest I bought which contains 70% cocoa cost around 80 pesos. Some of my faves are the: Lindt, Swiss, Dove and Hershey. I believe we already have some local version of it from the Goya company, haven’t tried it though.
Below are some of the reasons why dark chocolate is healthy. You can just google for more details:
It is rich in antioxidants helps ward off some of the factors associated with heart attacks and stroke.
Slows blood clotting.
It cuts bad cholesterol.
Suppress the activity of the vagus nerve which causes coughing.
And can give the immune system a boost.
But then again, take it moderately. May calories pa rin yan :d
A night ago the fiance caught me googling and researching info about stress management. He was worried, so he talked to me about – why being stress, this and that…
I laughed and explained that it was for my sister. The latter asked me to research and make a paper about handling office stress. I was/am still her secretary ever since /until now – from business letters, resignation letter, term paper, feasibility and pamangkin’s school project. Not because I’m so good at it – it’s just that they know I’m matyaga with the research, using the internet and reading stuff.
Anyway…going back to the first paragraph. So I told the fiance that though he might notice that I am kinda stress with our wedding preps, it is still manageable. I have my own strategy to avoid stress and if I’m into it, I can always find ways to DeStress. See my secret magic below:
1. Shit happens. You’ve been living for more than 2 decades in this world, dapat alam mo na that imperfection exist.
2. Don’t be so sensitive. As an initial reaction, yeah it may hurt but it’s normal- so just go back to #1.
3. Move on. Cliche but effective. You cannot step your feet forward if you keep on looking back to your cherished angst.
4. Forgive and forget. Another cliche and one of the basic rules that is hard to follow – but it is the only available choice if you want to have a beautiful and peaceful life.
5. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Consider other’s drama. Hindi lang ikaw ang meron nun. You are not the only one who have all the pains and frustration. You also don’t expect everyone to please you because they won’t! Masyado ng busy ngayon ang modernong buhay para dumagdag pa ng isang to-please na listahan.
6. Pick the right choice. You can always choose to be happy. Papa once told me while we we’re in the middle of summer traffic – “kapag mainit na ang panahon, huwag ka ng sumigaw ng “ang init !!!”. Coz it attracts more heat tapos iinit pa ulo mo…wala na, your day is ruined.”
