Unionbank’s EON Poor Customer Service

entry info: Money & Business Talks | 2008-09-26 | 16 Comments »

Yes I have to emphasize that.

Been calling them for ages and it’s really pissing me off. I tried to dial other locals like – press 1 for credit cards, press 2 for etc. and then I asked the CSR if she can entertain online banking inquiries because I cannot access my account or maybe if she can transfer me to the EON section (or whatever it is). She said she can’t and that I have to press 5.

Miss, I’ve been pressing 5 for more than 10 days already and no one is answering!

Also, 16 days ago, I have this withdrawal transaction from Paypal to EON. 16 days ago, that same transaction was already completed on Paypal’s part but not on Unionbank EON. I went to Unionbank branch office and informed them about it – but the bank staff didn’t know what Paypal is!!! And that I should just call their hotline instead. Argh, naman!

I continued to press / and still pressing 5 again – but to no avail. Hopeless.

Love Tees

entry info: But That's Just Me | Money & Business Talks | 2008-02-07 | Comment »

While watching TV awhile ago, I was staring at my step-brother who is so serious studying and preparing for his NCAT examination. He’s wearing a new brown shirt that caught my attention because it has a cool graphics printed on it which reminds me of my teenage years. And since I was living with angst and myriad infatuation that time, the only fashion sense I know is a t-shirt, rugged pants and my dirty rubber shoes. I called it the Eraserheads or Parokya ni Edgar type of get-up. The beautiful days high school years! I could still remember how my dad, sister and relatives convinced me to wear a skirt, blouse with matching ribbons, pins and raffles. Yay. It’s a no way for me during that time. I said, I’ll stick with my uber cool urban tees forever.

But yeah – as days go by, people change. Reaching the twenty-something age category brought a lot of change. It introduces me to chic lifestyle which spells accessories, collection of fashionable bags, lots of sexy sandals, slippers and shoes. But of course, my ultimate love for t-shirts stayed. I still buy sexy tees every once in awhile. I definitely can’t live without it – it’s one of the comfortable things in this world!

And since I’m inlove with tees – I am planning to have my own designed t-shirt soon. We (with some friends) have been planning this ever since. How I wish we will pursue it this time. Because you see it spells moolah and yeah everyone needs it. We already found list of suppliers where we can find wholesale shirts in very affordable factory prices. Their product varies in different styles, colors and sizes. You can check the link to visit their website online to check for more details.

Meanwhile, me and a friend of mine will still conceptualize of a design theme for shirts. We want it to be artistic urban with a touch of Japanese art – something like that. Oh well, good luck :p

Paypal local bank widthrawal and its low exchange rate

entry info: Money & Business Talks | 2008-02-03 | 7 Comments »

I was so happy when I found out from Joni that Paypal is already accepting local bank accounts. There is a charge of 50 pesos for every widthraw of less than 6,000 and no charge for withdrawal amounts over PHP 7000. Wow. It’s really a good news since this will be much cheaper than using debit or credit card.

So I tried to widthraw. While waiting, I expected 2 things:

First, an amount minus the charge of 50 pesos only.
Second, the exact exchange rate conversion (more or less).

After 5 days of processing, all of my expectations are wrong.

I got an amount that is less than what I expected. A total of 150 pesos is missing. Maybe it’s a bank’s service fee? I still don’t know.

So I tried to widthraw again awhile ago (to check consistency). The Paypal confirmation window gave me this:

Exchange rate: 1 U.S. Dollar = 39.5265 Peso

Ngeks. That low? Hehe. When in fact, as of today, our peso-dollar rate is 40.720. Oh well… this reminds me of Xoom’s internal low conversion rates.
